2006
October
Mr. Li Gang, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR, showed up at the 2006 inauguration ceremony of Shanghai University of Finance & Economics Postgraduate Education Site in Shenzhen, which saw attendance of another 20 guests and over 100 doctor candidates for celebration.
Chairperson Wang Zhongying inked training agreements with Mr. Yang Maosen, Director-general of Shouguang (Shandong) Personnel Bureau and with officials from Jiangyin, Jiangsu.

Chairperson Wang entered into a training agreement Ms. Xing Yanfen, Director-general of Shanxi Provincial Personnel Department, at the International Jin' Merchant Conference with before calling on Mr. Yu Youjun, governor of Shanxi Province.

August
At the windup of an advanced training course on Chinese rural commercial banks, an initiative sponsored by China Banking Regulatory Commission, Mr. Liang Jinsong, former Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, presented at the commencement ceremony delivering a speech and awarding diplomas.

Mr. Ding Xuexiang, Director-general of Shanghai Municipal Personnel Bureau, arrived at Hong Kong and unveiled Hong Kong Financial Services Institute (HKFSI) as Shanghai’s overseas training base.
Students enrolled in the first finance doctor candidate program made donation of 60,000 HKD to improve the stock of HKFSI library.
With patronage from HKFSI, the initial issue of Financial Quotient, a financial periodical sponsored by the student union of the first finance doctor candidate program, went into public circulation.

Prof. Cheung Yiu-chung, former Vice-chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, visited HKFSI.
At the commencement ceremony of the training course for China Cinda Asset Management Corporation, Mr. Liang Botao was invited to present diplomas.

Ms. Mo Wenxiu, Vice Chairperson of All-China Women’s Federation, inspected HKFSI and addressed the training class.
The certified enterprise management doctorate course and EMBA course were sanctioned by the Education and Manpower Bureau.

Mr. Huang Yaojin, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, arrived at HKFSI for a visit.

September
The Shanghai agency was named the certified training provider for Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
The Ministry of Education granted its consent to the launch of enterprise management doctorate program and EMBA program by the Shanghai University of Finance & Economics Postgraduate Education Site at Hong Kong.
August
The Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs under the Ministry of Education nodded its approval to Renmin University of China to operate doctorate and master programs of Chinese History, Chinese Literature, and Chinese Philosophy at the Hong Kong Postgraduate Education Site.
June
Mr. Zhu Xiaoming, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, was appointed Honorary President of HKFSI.
March
The Shanghai agency became the exclusively authorized institute to provide examination training in Shanghai for Certified in Transportation and Logistics (CTL), a certification program from the American Society of Transportation and Logistics.
Mr. Ji Baocheng, President of Renmin University of China, and Ms. Wang Zhongying, Chairperson of HKFSI, co-signed the Agreement Regarding Setting up a Renmin University of China Postgraduate Education Site in Hong Kong Financial Services Institute.

Mr. Sun Zheng, Vice President of Shanghai University of Finance & Economics, attended the inauguration ceremony of the first postgraduate class.

The Hong Kong SAR Education and Manpower Bureau gave sanction to the certified finance doctorate, MBA, and master of accounting programs.

As an initiative of collaboration with Lingnan University, 21 students studying for associate's degrees were offered opportunities to spend one semester learning in Shanghai.

The Shanghai agent was the first to be authorized as the ACCA computer exam center in mainland China.

The Shanghai commencement ceremony of a two-month Hong Kong based training course for senior public servants saw attendance of Mr. LEE Richard, President of PCCW, awarding diplomas.

Mr. Shi Chao, Secretary of the Changning district Party committee, inspected the Shanghai agency.

The Shanghai agency – Shanghai Excel Professional Training Centre was unveiled.
2001
November
The Ministry of Education PRC signed and issued the “Official Reply Regarding Approval of Setting up a Postgraduate Education Site Jointly by Shanghai University of Finance & Economics and Hong Kong Financial Services Institute”.
Commissioned by Hong Kong China Education Fund, HKFSI committed itself to a three-year training plan, which is a part of the drive of foreign expert affairs bureaus to boost development of central & western regions.
November
The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs PRC (SAFEA) gave HKFSI the qualification certificate as an overseas agency for international personnel exchange services.
Mr. Wan Xueyuan, Director-general of SAFEA, paid a site inspection.

A training program involving 100 senior employees from Shenzhen Securities Regulatory Bureau kicked-off.
